Bill Murray has once again shown why he might just be the greatest man on the face of the earth.
While entertaining the world may seem like his job, Mr. Murray’s primary focus this year, it seems, has been Chicago Cubs baseball.
Like 99.9 percent of the population, Murray has never seen his cubbies play in the World Series. And now, finally, he gets to see them play for the championship. However, it was what he did before game six that will forever cement him as “World’s Coolest Guy.”
When Karen Michel tried to get a single-ticket from the Cleveland box-office she, along with many others, was turned away. Scoring a ticket to the game already seemed like an impossible task and being shot down at the gate only confirmed that.
“I was thinking, maybe somebody didn’t use their ticket and they’ll want to resell it,” said Michel.
She knew the odds of getting a ticket were slim, but she was still disappointed. That is, until, Karen saw Chicago Cubs super-fan, Bill Murray.
Hoping to have a brush with greatness, Karen was shocked when Murray turned around and handed her a ticket to the game.
“He turns around and says ‘Here, here’s a ticket,'” Michel tells reporters during the game. “And he kind of shuttled me into the door. I thought it was just a ticket to get in. But it was a ticket to sit right here.”
That’s right, Karen not only got a free ticket to the World Series, but she got to sit next to THE Bill Murray. So, what did the two of them talk about during the four hour game?
“I asked, ‘When you went to the Cubs game, who did you go with?” Karen later said. “He said his brother and his father. I have all sisters, and me and my dad would go to the baseball games. We talked about stuff like that.”
Surely, it was a moment that will never be forgotten, and all thanks to one incredibly generous comedian.
Seriously, is there a better guy out there than Bill Murray? I”ll wait.
