Dez Bryant Leaves It All On The Field After Losing His Dad Hours Before The Game

The Cowboys won their eighth straight game on Sunday by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers, but this particular win meant something extra special to their star player, Dez Bryant.

The day before the game, Bryant had learned of his father’s passing, and was incredibly emotional entering Sunday’s battle with Pittsburgh.

While many would struggle to keep it together, Dez Bryant not only played well, but he put on a performance that definitely would have made his dad proud.

Dez finished the game with a team-high six catches for 116 yards, and a touchdown on the way to a thrilling Cowboys victory. Immediately following the game, head coach Jason Garrett said a few words about the game that Bryant had amidst all the adversity.

“Dez Bryant lost his dad last night,” Garrett said before getting choked up. “I don’t know if you watched that (expletive) play today, but he was off the charts.”

An emotional Garrett then handed Bryant the game ball in one of the more touching moments from this season so far.

“Thank y’all for being my family,” the superstar wide receiver said. “I love every last one of y’all.”
