Joanna Gaines Tells The Heartwarming Story Of How God Inspired Her To Build The Silos

Just a few days ago, Chip and Joanna Gaines announced another new exciting endeavor to add to their empire. But it’s what just happened off-camera that’s captivating fans even more.

In addition to their wildly successful television show, the empire Chip and Joanna have built from the ground up includes a paint line, a bed-and-breakfast fittingly called “Magnolia House”, and even a bakery that recently opened named “Magnolia Flour”.

As if that wasn’t inspiring enough, the Gaines also own “Magnolia Market” — a furniture and home decor shop located in Waco, Texas that welcomes an impressive average of 25,000 people per week. Magnolia Flour is right across from Magnolia Market, and it truly is the experience of a lifetime.

Fixer Upper fans were thrilled when the Gaines announced the launch of their new lifestyle magazine this fall, which will include regular stories about everything from gardening to family fun. This isn’t the Gaines’ first writing project though — their book, The Magnolia Story, will also debut this October.

However, after discovering Chip and Joanna’s newest secret accomplishment, I realized God had even more extraordinary plans for the Gaines. It’s clear God is using this couple to change lives through Jesus Christ. Chip and Joanna are role models, and if we look up to their properly aligned priorities, we’ll get our own taste of the reward that comes when we submit ourselves to Jesus Christ.

After seeing friends and strangers on social media traveling to Waco, Texas to visit Magnolia Market, it became clear to me that Chip and Joanna are truly bringing out the best in people. As a Texas native myself, I can assure you that nobody “vacationed” in Waco until Fixer Upper came out. But each week, more and more people are making the journey to catch a glimpse of the Fixer Upper magic with loved ones.

Here’s 7 Reason Why Every Family Should Travel To Magnolia Market:

#1: Because the faster time passes, the less opportunities we have to spend quality time together.

The Gaines’ first priority is their Christian faith, but their second priority is always family. Chip and Joanna give us hope that happy families still exist, and the divine simplicity of Magnolia Market gives visitors the opportunity to create priceless memories to cherish forever.

#2: Because the cupcakes from Magnolia Flour taste even better than they look.

I’m not being biased when I say the cupcakes from Magnolia Flour are the best cupcakes I’ve EVER eaten! As you take your first bite, you enter the heaven of southern sweets. You can taste the love it took to make each cupcake! The cupcakes and frosting pair to create a perfectly balanced dessert through texture, quality and taste. In fact, I’d drive to Waco for Magnolia Flour cupcakes alone. P.S. — they make the best cinnamon rolls ever too!

#3: Because you don’t realize how majestic silos are until you see them in all their glory.

The Gaines love living ‘the farm life’ and the opportunity it gives their family to spend quality time together, and the breathtaking silos illustrate the importance of a quality of life. Although silos are normally used in agriculture for storage, it’s impossible to not be filled with the wonder of a child as you encounter them at Magnolia Market. It’s also what defined Joanna’s designs that we all know and love today when she and Chip saw a farmhouse and silos in New Mexico, “From that point forward, everything I did from a design aspect was inspired from that picture in my mind..” Joanna blogged about her love of the silos: “It’s a piece of the past that I am drawn to. The way things used to be, simpler times. There is a place in all of us that longs for a simpler space and time.” There’s little wonder why she and Chip chose to renovate the landmark silos in Waco, TX.

“Many, LORD my God, are the wonders You have done, the things You planned for us. None can compare with You; were I to speak and tell of Your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” – Psalm 40:5

#4: Because you can take pride in turning a house into a “home” together.

Magnolia Market sells home goods of all diversities, from timeless flour sifters to the most original faux succulent centerpiece you’ve ever seen. True homemakers rarely exist these days, but shopping at Magnolia Market takes us back to the roots of achieving the American dream. A teenage daughter shopping alone there might not understand the importance of owning a classic serving tray, but if she’s with her mother, she’ll become an expert at hosting family gatherings in no time.

“She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” – Proverbs 31:27

#5: Because they bring in the best food trucks with the most creative menu items ever.

Where else can you truly enjoy drinking blended watermelon from a real, fresh watermelon? Or, juice from an actual coconut? The food trucks at Magnolia Market have something to satisfy cravings of all diversities, and it’s an experience your tastebuds can’t get anywhere else. The best part is every menu item is reasonably priced and you can try a little of everything by sharing it with the family!

“There also you and your households shall eat before the LORD your God, and rejoice in all your undertakings in which the LORD your God has blessed you.” – Deuteronomy 12:7

#6: Because you can treasure the beauty of gardening together.

Joanna included the garden at Magnolia Market for families to explore together, giving kids the opportunity to play and learn valuable life lessons about gardening. The precious wooden teepee provides a little dose of adventure, and beds filled with seasonal produce remind us how attainable it is to live sustainably like our ancestors did not too long ago. Chip and Joanna’s little garden shop, “Magnolia Seed and Supply”, is located onsite. They sell gardening tools, flower-growing kits for the kiddos, fairy garden supplies and unique vessels to plant in. After taking time to appreciate gardening, you’ll feel inspired to grow in your own soil at home!

“I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5

#7: Because the intriguing simplicity reminds us to prioritize family.

At Magnolia Market, there’s a big green lawn with classic games such as cornhole. While there, you’ll witness families playing cornhole, having potato sack races, swinging and throwing the football around. With the rise in technology and busy schedules these days, pure fun like this is hard to cherish as a family. However, at Magnolia Market, you’ll feel refreshed as a family by creating memories to cherish forever.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

Instead of indulging in material items and a luxurious lifestyle, Chip and Joanna invest not only in their family, but also their fans’ families. They use the blessings received from God to serve others, and Magnolia Market is proof.

It’s clearly no surprise why Chip and Joanna Gaines have inspired infinite lives across the nation. Thank you both, for reminding America the importance of family. Please share if you agree!
