One of the most powerful tactics liberals use is name-calling, and specifically using the word “racist” to describe anyone who might be conservative.
While they like to brag about their “open-mindedness,” “diversity,” and “acceptance,” it appears many liberals and progressives aren’t nearly as accepting as they let on.
South Carolina Senator Tim Scott knows this first hand, and spent time on the senate floor reading the hate mail he’s received by those on the “tolerant” left. “I Left Out All The Ones That Used The N-Word,” he told the members of the senate. “I just felt that would be inappropriate.”
Scott started out his speech recognizing that “if you sign up to be a black conservative, the chances are very high you will be attacked.” Unfortunately, those attacks have increased in recent months, and Scott is worried about how those in his staff are responding.
“I’ve had it for 20 years, two decades, but my friends and my staff, they’re not used to the level of animus that comes in from the liberal left that suggests that I somehow are not helpful to the cause of liberal America and therefore I am not helpful to black America.”
Scott then reads off some letters sent to him, in which he is referred to as an “Uncle Tom” on multiple occasions, as well as called a host of other slurs, simply for having a different political philosophy.
“What I’m surprised by just a smidgen,” Scott says “is that the liberal left that speaks and desires for all of us to be tolerant do not want to be tolerant of anyone that disagrees with where they are coming from.”
Scott then goes on to say that “the only African-American chief of staff out of the United States’ senate, out of the hundreds, is the chief of staff for a republican.” Whoa, I thought that the democrats were supposed to be all about diversity? Is Senator Scott suggesting that democrats merely speak well, but don’t back it up? My word!
Democrats like to pretend to be tolerant, but clearly they are only tolerant of those with similar beliefs. How can they not see their own hypocrisy!?
