Mars Candy Issues Recall After Potential “Life Threatening” Contamination

How many of you like to enjoy a Twix candy bar or M&M’s? Well, the company that manufactures these delicious chocolate treats has just issued a recall on one of their products, and it could have life threatening implications.

Mars, Inc., the masterminds behind such wonderful snacks as Snickers, Milky Way, and 3 Musketeers, have recently announced that one of their products, Combos, will be recalled due to a peanut contamination.

This could have terrible consequences for people with peanut allergies who would have no way of knowing they were ingesting peanuts. The company issued the following statement after announcing the recall:

“The amount of peanut exposure from use of the flours … is considered to be low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers.”

The contaminated flavors include Cheddar Cheese Pretzel, Cheddar Cheese Cracker, Pizzeria Pretzel, Salt Caramel Pretzel, Pepperoni Cracker, and Buffalo Pretzel.
