Playboy Came Calling And Ronda Rousey’s Response Was Legendary

It’s no secret that we live in a society that’s obsessed with fame, fortune, and their public image. Thousands of celebrities have shed some layers in order to make a few extra bucks — but one celebrity’s shocking announcement has left us cheering.

Ronda Rousey is a famous mixed martial artist and one of UFC’s biggest stars. Now, she’s sending a powerful message by turning down a spot with Playboy.

The 26-year old fighter declared that you’ll never find her on any revealing Playboy magazine — because she won’t take off her clothes — no matter the price.

Rousey told New York Daily News:

“No one should be able to see my cash and prizes for $5, okay, I don’t care how much money they gave me.”

Rousey is the first and current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, as well as the former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Additionally, Rousey was the first American to earn an Olympic medal in Judo during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Bejing.

Needless to say, this is one girl you don’t want to mess with.

We just love the positive message she’s choosing to stand for. Unlike other fighters, Rousey has only accepted tasteful magazine shoots, such as last year’s ESPN The Magazine’s The Body Issue.

The world-renown fighter expressed her reasons for accepting a spread in ESPN’s magazine:

“I felt like it was a good way to promote myself and women’s MMA. It wasn’t like Playboy.”

We love how Rousey isn’t afraid of “unpopularity” when it comes to upholding her God-given dignity. But this isn’t the first time Rousey has swam against stream. The fighter recently shared her perspective about transgender fighters — and it didn’t exactly leave liberals smiling.

We love this girl! Women were never created to be simply sold and used for profit. No amount of money is worth giving away your dignity. We could use more classy women like Ronda Rousey!
