From early during the campaign, to being elected, to now, President Trump has continually shown his support and praise for the men and women in the military.
With promises of increasing the military and improving the quality of life for our veterans, Trump has never been shy with his appreciation of their hard work and sacrifices, and he loves having the chance to lift up those who’ve served.
This appreciation was shown during Trump’s third week in office when he met with a group of Green Beret candidates, who were allowed to do something few, if any in their position have done before.
According to Deputy Assistant to the President Sebastian Gorka, “Halfway through the discussion, (Trump) said, ‘Hey — we’re not supposed to do this but follow me,’ and he brought them all into the Oval Office, took a group photograph around the Resolute desk, and then — throwing the schedules into a bit of a tizzy, said, ‘OK, that’s not good enough.’”
This was the first time in history that Green Beret candidates were inside of the Oval Office, but this still was not enough for Trump to completely show his admiration for their service.
“He said, ‘everybody stand in the corner,’” Gorka continued. “They all stood in the corner, and one-by-one we took photographs they can take home to their family with each future Green Beret next to the president at the Oval Office desk.”
Although this all happened back in early February, and the meeting was announced the day before, reports of the event are just now coming out. This seems like the kind of thing we would want to see our president doing -praising the youth, praising the military- where was all the coverage?
It would appear that the media does not want to report on the obvious positive actions President Trump is partaking in. Even with this said, it is encouraging to see our president so faithful and devoted to the military and the men and women who bravely serve!
