When This State Trooper Saw A Car Driving The Wrong Way, He Did The Bravest Thing Possible

An Arkansas State Trooper is currently in serious but stable condition after a head-on collision that left the other driver dead. Apparently, the motorist was driving the WRONG WAY when his Ford truck crashed head-on into the police cruiser. What many don’t know is that it’s being reported State Trooper 1st Class Moomey had hit the driver head on, ON PURPOSE.

The motorist, Matthew C. Choate, 24, of Fort Smith, was reportedly drunk and speeding down the wrong way on Interstate 40 in Crawford County, which placed oncoming drivers in seriously grave danger.

Apparently, Moomey had made ‘a deliberate, informed decision’ to stop Choate despite having a very low chance of survival for himself. According to the accident summary from the state police, Moomey was dispatched at 3:35am to the area where Choate had been driving in the wrong direction, colliding head-on at 3:38am.

If actions were made with ‘a deliberate, informed decision’ by State Trooper Moomey, we can say he literally placed himself in harm’s way to save innocent lives.

Moomey was transported to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith and was in serious but stable condition on Monday.

It’s a miracle Moomey survived this.

A spokesman for the state police said the crash is still under investigation, and Moomey’s actions to turn his police cruiser into the path of the Ford to stop it “..has not been validated as accurate.” Moomey, a trooper first-class of the Highway Patrol Division, Troop H in Crawford County, had received an award for his role in saving the life of a man who was trapped inside a burning vehicle on Jan. 22, 2015.

Marc McCune, a Crawford County prosecutor, posted on his Facebook page: “Prayers needed for Trooper Roy Moomey. He was hit head on by a drunk driver this morning. … Roy put his life on the line to save others on the interstate. The drunk driver was killed in the accident.” A GoFundMe has been created to help his family with expenses.

Please pray for Trooper Roy Moomey. Our Police Officers need all our support. Share if you agree!
